We're pleased to share that our winning entry for the Conca d'Oro Masterplan Competition was officially unveiled at a press conference on May 30th in Torbole, marking an important milestone for this beautiful lakeside community.

A Community Celebration

The press conference brought together a remarkable cross-section of stakeholders who share a vision for Torbole's future. Local and regional authorities joined government tourism agencies, representatives from the surf and sailing clubs, and residents of Torbole to see the winning design and learn about the competition results.

This diverse participation reflects the collaborative spirit that guided our design approach. From the beginning, we understood that any successful masterplan for Torbole would need to balance the needs of residents, visitors, and the unique landscape characteristics of Lake Garda's eastern shore.

An Exhibition by the Water

Following the press conference, the exhibition showcasing all competition entries was inaugurated in the stunning setting of Torbole's waterfront. The location couldn't have been more fitting—visitors could view the proposed designs while standing in the very landscape that inspired them. This waterfront setting allowed attendees to envision how the masterplan would transform the area while respecting its natural beauty.

Recognition for Innovative Design

The jury's motivation for selecting our proposal highlights several key aspects of our design philosophy. They recognized our approach as innovative, noting how the masterplan "qualifies the Conca d'Oro area, its characteristics and landscape relationships through a comprehensive redesign that enhances its identity and potential."

Our design prioritizes pedestrian and cycling mobility, moving beyond rigid standard road layouts to create spaces with varied uses and dimensions. A central element is the garden-plaza with covered elements that redefines the road layout, creating what the jury described as "a new eastern gateway to Garda Trentino."

Connecting Land and Water

The architectural articulation of the sailing sports hub was particularly praised for how it emphasizes the area's unique position overlooking the water. The jury noted that our volumetric configuration frames the views generated by the proposed buildings while connecting interior and exterior spaces—a crucial consideration for a location where the relationship between built environment and natural landscape is paramount.

The functional distribution organizes the complex in a way that serves both daily users and visitors, creating a space that works for the sailing community while attracting those interested in the broader Garda Trentino experience.

Looking Ahead the Architectural Winning Competition

This recognition comes through Trentino Marketing's competition initiative, which sought innovative solutions for transforming this strategic location.

The Conca d'Oro masterplan represents more than just a building project; it's about creating a new kind of gateway that honors the landscape while providing modern facilities for water sports enthusiasts and the broader community.

We look forward the developments of this project!
